Nebuchadnezzar demanded that Babylon’s wise men tell both his troubling dream and its meaning. When their lives were threatened, Daniel asked time and prayed with his friends. God revealed a statue of several metals shattered by a stone not cut by hands. Daniel gave God the glory and explained that earthly kingdoms pass, but God’s kingdom will stand forever.

The Bible Adventure

Nebuchadnezzar demanded that Babylon’s wise men tell both his troubling dream and its meaning. When their lives were threatened, Daniel asked time and prayed with his friends. God revealed a statue of several metals shattered by a stone not cut by hands. Daniel gave God the glory and explained that earthly kingdoms pass, but God’s kingdom will stand forever.

Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how the account teaches that God reveals what human power cannot discover and establishes an everlasting kingdom. God acts within real human history: He confronts idolatry and injustice, preserves life, receives repentance, forms servants, and keeps covenant even when His people are weak.
