The returned community completed and dedicated the temple with joy, kept Passover, and separated from practices that corrupted worship. Later they gathered in fasting to hear Scripture, confess sin, and retell God’s faithfulness from creation through exile. At Jerusalem’s wall dedication, two choirs processed with thanksgiving until the sound of rejoicing was heard far away.
