After the crowd searched for Jesus, He taught that they should not work only for food that perishes. He identified Himself as the bread of life and promised that whoever comes and believes will not hunger or thirst. He spoke of giving His flesh and blood for the life of the world, words that many found difficult but that the Church receives in Eucharistic faith.

The Bible Adventure
After the crowd searched for Jesus, He taught that they should not work only for food that perishes. He identified Himself as the bread of life and promised that whoever comes and believes will not hunger or thirst. He spoke of giving His flesh and blood for the life of the world, words that many found difficult but that the Church receives in Eucharistic faith.
Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how it teaches that Jesus is the living gift who satisfies the deepest hunger and gives eternal life. God acts in real history: He reveals His Son, confronts evil, welcomes outsiders, heals bodies and souls, forms disciples, and calls people into repentance and love.
This episode belongs to the one saving story fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Receive it with reverence, without inventing missing details, and ask how it corrects fear, pride, indifference, greed, or unbelief in our own lives.
Coptic Orthodox Teaching
