Crowds followed Jesus into a deserted place, and He had compassion on them. The disciples wanted to send people away, but Jesus told them to give the crowd food. A boy’s five barley loaves and two fish were brought forward. Jesus gave thanks, broke the loaves, and distributed them until everyone ate and twelve baskets remained.

The Bible Adventure
Crowds followed Jesus into a deserted place, and He had compassion on them. The disciples wanted to send people away, but Jesus told them to give the crowd food. A boy’s five barley loaves and two fish were brought forward. Jesus gave thanks, broke the loaves, and distributed them until everyone ate and twelve baskets remained.
Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how it teaches that Jesus receives a small offering, gives thanks, and feeds a hungry multitude. God acts in real history: He reveals His Son, confronts evil, welcomes outsiders, heals bodies and souls, forms disciples, and calls people into repentance and love.
This episode belongs to the one saving story fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Receive it with reverence, without inventing missing details, and ask how it corrects fear, pride, indifference, greed, or unbelief in our own lives.
