After feeding the crowd, Jesus sent the disciples across the lake and went up the mountain to pray. At night He came toward them walking on the sea. They thought He was a ghost, but He said, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’ Peter stepped out, then sank when fear grew. Jesus caught him, calmed the wind, and the disciples worshipped Him.

The Bible Adventure

They thought He was a ghost, but He said, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’ Peter stepped out, then sank when fear grew. Jesus caught him, calmed the wind, and the disciples worshipped Him.
Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how it teaches that Christ meets frightened disciples in the dark and turns panic toward worship. God acts in real history: He reveals His Son, confronts evil, welcomes outsiders, heals bodies and souls, forms disciples, and calls people into repentance and love.
