King Balak sent for Balaam to curse Israel. Though Balaam knew he could speak only God’s word, desire for reward drew him onward. On the road the donkey saw the angel Balaam could not see, turned aside, and finally spoke. God opened Balaam’s eyes and exposed his reckless path.

The Bible Adventure
King Balak sent for Balaam to curse Israel. Though Balaam knew he could speak only God’s word, desire for reward drew him onward. On the road the donkey saw the angel Balaam could not see, turned aside, and finally spoke. God opened Balaam’s eyes and exposed his reckless path.
Read the passage slowly and notice the people’s words, choices, and consequences. The account teaches that God can interrupt a stubborn path through an unexpected messenger. God works truthfully within human history: He confronts evil, protects life, keeps covenant, and patiently calls people to trust and obedience.
