Jesus sat on the mountain and taught His disciples and the crowds. He blessed the poor in spirit, mourners, meek, merciful, pure, peacemakers, and persecuted. He deepened the commandments, taught secret prayer and generous fasting, warned against anxiety and judging, and called hearers to build on His words like a wise person building on rock.
يسوع قعد على الجبل وعلم التلاميذ والجموع. طوّب المساكين بالروح والحزانى والودعاء والرحماء وأنقياء القلب وصانعي السلام والمضطهدين. عمّق الوصايا وعلم الصلاة والصوم في الخفاء وحذر من الهم والدينونة ودعا الناس يبنوا على كلامه زي الحكيم اللي بنى على الصخر.

The Bible Adventure
Jesus sat on the mountain and taught His disciples and the crowds. He blessed the poor in spirit, mourners, meek, merciful, pure, peacemakers, and persecuted. He deepened the commandments, taught secret prayer and generous fasting, warned against anxiety and judging, and called hearers to build on His words like a wise person building on rock.
Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how it teaches that the Kingdom forms a visible life of mercy, purity, truth, prayer, and love of enemies. God acts in real history: He reveals His Son, confronts evil, welcomes outsiders, heals bodies and souls, forms disciples, and calls people into repentance and love.
This episode belongs to the one saving story fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Receive it with reverence, without inventing missing details, and ask how it corrects fear, pride, indifference, greed, or unbelief in our own lives.
Coptic Orthodox Teaching
