Jairus begged Jesus to come because his little daughter was dying. On the way, messengers announced that she had died, but Jesus told Jairus not to fear, only believe. He entered the house, took the child by the hand, and said, ‘Talitha, cumi.’ She arose and walked, and Jesus told the family to give her something to eat.

The Bible Adventure
Jairus begged Jesus to come because his little daughter was dying. On the way, messengers announced that she had died, but Jesus told Jairus not to fear, only believe. He entered the house, took the child by the hand, and said, ‘Talitha, cumi.’ She arose and walked, and Jesus told the family to give her something to eat.
Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how it teaches that Jesus meets grief with compassionate presence and the life-giving command to rise. God acts in real history: He reveals His Son, confronts evil, welcomes outsiders, heals bodies and souls, forms disciples, and calls people into repentance and love.
