Introduction | مقدمة
A lawyer asked Jesus to define the limits of neighbourly duty. Jesus answered with a story that removed the limits. The Good Samaritan shows that mercy sees, approaches, sacrifices, and continues caring—even when the suffering person belongs to a group we might avoid.

The Bible Adventure
A lawyer tested Jesus by asking what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus directed him to the Law: love God with all your being and love your neighbour as yourself. The man knew the correct words, but wanting to justify himself he asked, “And who is my neighbour?”
Jesus described a traveller going from Jerusalem to Jericho. Robbers attacked him, took his possessions, beat him, and left him half dead. A priest came down the road, saw the wounded man, and passed by. A Levite also saw him and passed by. Religious position and correct knowledge had not become mercy.
Then a Samaritan arrived. Jews and Samaritans carried deep hostility, so listeners would not expect him to be the hero. Yet he saw the wounded man and had compassion. He approached, treated the wounds, placed the man on his own animal, brought him to an inn, cared for him, paid the keeper, and promised to cover further expense.
Jesus did not ask which category of people deserved help. He asked which traveller became a neighbour. The lawyer answered, “He who showed mercy.” Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.” Christian love is not a warm opinion from a safe distance. It crosses the road, spends time, accepts inconvenience, protects dignity, and follows through.
Coptic Orthodox Teaching
Christ is also revealed in the parable as the true Physician who comes to wounded humanity, pours healing grace, carries us, and brings us into the inn of the Church. Because we have received His mercy, we are called to become neighbours through concrete works of compassion.

Hands-on Activity
Prepare a family or class “mercy kit” with safe useful items for a local charity. Before giving, learn what the organisation actually needs so service respects rather than assumes.
Faith in Practice This Week
Notice one person who is alone, excluded, or burdened. With an adult’s guidance, cross the social distance through a kind greeting, practical help, or inclusion.
Prayer
Compassionate Lord Jesus, You came near when humanity was wounded. Open our eyes, overcome our excuses, and make our love practical, wise, and faithful. Help us see Your image in every person. Amen.
Guide for Parents
Turn the lesson into one age-appropriate action, while maintaining safety boundaries. Children should never approach an unknown injured person alone; teach them to call a trusted adult or emergency service and remain compassionate.
Guide for Sunday School Servants
Invite children to identify every action verb in the Samaritan’s response. Discuss prejudice without shaming groups, and distinguish compassion from unsafe rescuing. Finish with a concrete class service plan.
مغامرة الكتاب المقدس
ناموسي جرّب يسوع وسأله يعمل إيه علشان يرث الحياة الأبدية. يسوع رجعه للشريعة: تحب الرب إلهك من كل كيانك وقريبك كنفسك. الراجل كان عارف الإجابة الصح، لكنه علشان يبرر نفسه سأل: «ومن هو قريبي؟»
يسوع حكى عن مسافر نازل من أورشليم لأريحا. لصوص هجموا عليه وسرقوه وضربوه وسابوه بين حي وميت. كاهن جه في الطريق وشافه وعدّى. وبعده لاوي شافه وعدّى. المركز الديني والمعلومة الصح ما اتحولوش لرحمة.
وبعدين جه سامري. كان فيه عداوة عميقة بين اليهود والسامريين، فالسامعين ما كانوش متوقعين يبقى هو البطل. لكنه شاف المجروح فتحنن. قرب منه وربط جراحه وحطه على دابته ووداه فندق واعتنى بيه ودفع لصاحب الفندق ووعد يدفع أي تكلفة زيادة.
يسوع ما سألش مين من الناس يستحق المساعدة. سأل مين صار قريبًا للمجروح. الناموسي قال: «الذي صنع معه الرحمة». يسوع قال: «اذهب أنت أيضًا واصنع هكذا». المحبة المسيحية مش رأي دافي من بعيد؛ بتعدي الطريق وتقضي وقت وتقبل تعب وتحفظ كرامة المحتاج وتكمّل للآخر.
التعليم القبطي الأرثوذكسي
المسيح ظاهر كمان في المثل كالطبيب الحقيقي اللي جه للبشرية المجروحة، وصب نعمة الشفاء وحملنا ودخلنا فندق الكنيسة. ولأننا أخدنا رحمته، إحنا مدعوين نصير أقرباء للناس بأعمال رحمة حقيقية.
نتكلم مع بعض
- الناموسي سأل «من هو قريبي؟» ليه؟
- الكاهن واللاوي فشلوا يعملوا إيه؟
- إيه الأعمال اللي أظهرت رحمة السامري؟
- مين سهل إنك ما تاخدش بالك منه؟
- إيه رحمة عملية وآمنة تقدر تقدمها؟
نشاط عملي
جهزوا شنطة رحمة كعيلة أو فصل فيها حاجات آمنة ومفيدة لجمعية محلية. قبل ما تجهزوها اسألوا الجمعية محتاجة إيه فعلًا علشان الخدمة تحترم المحتاج وما تفترضش.
نعيش الإيمان الأسبوع ده
لاحظ شخص لوحده أو مستبعد أو تعبان. بإرشاد شخص كبير، اقطع المسافة بتحية لطيفة أو مساعدة عملية أو دعوة للمشاركة.
صلاة
يا رب يسوع الحنون، إنت قربت للبشرية وهي مجروحة. افتح عينينا، واكسر أعذارنا، وخلي محبتنا عملية وحكيمة وأمينة. ساعدنا نشوف صورتك في كل إنسان. آمين.
دليل للوالدين
حوّل الدرس لعمل مناسب للسن مع الحفاظ على الأمان. الطفل ما يقربش لوحده من شخص غريب مصاب؛ علّمه ينادي شخص كبير موثوق أو الطوارئ وفي نفس الوقت يفضل رحيم.
دليل لخدام مدارس الأحد
خلي الأطفال يطلعوا كل أفعال السامري في القصة. ناقش التحيز من غير إهانة جماعات، وفرّق بين الرحمة والتصرف غير الآمن. اختموا بخطة خدمة عملية للفصل.
