Introduction | مقدمة

God spoke and light appeared. He ordered days and seasons, gathered seas, raised dry land, filled creation with plants and living creatures, and made humanity in His image. God called the whole work very good and blessed the seventh day as a pattern of worshipful rest.

ربنا قال يكون نور فكان نور. رتّب الأيام والأوقات، وجمع المياه، وأظهر اليابسة، وملأ الخليقة نباتات وكائنات حية، وخلق الإنسان على صورته. شاف ربنا إن الكل حسن جدًا وبارك اليوم السابع كنظام للعبادة والراحة.

The Bible Adventure

God spoke and light appeared. He ordered days and seasons, gathered seas, raised dry land, filled creation with plants and living creatures, and made humanity in His image. God called the whole work very good and blessed the seventh day as a pattern of worshipful rest.

Read the passage slowly and notice the people’s words, choices, and consequences. The account teaches that God brings light, order, life, and holy rest out of emptiness. God works truthfully within human history: He confronts evil, protects life, keeps covenant, and patiently calls people to trust and obedience.

This is not a distant tale or a moral slogan. It belongs to the one saving story that prepares for Jesus Christ. We receive the passage with reverence, ask what it reveals about God, and allow it to correct fear, pride, selfishness, or unbelief in our own lives.

Coptic Orthodox Teaching

The repeated divine word points Christian readers toward the eternal Word through whom all things were made. Human beings receive equal dignity and a calling to care for creation.
