After Abram rescued Lot, Melchizedek king of Salem came with bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, blessed Abram, and praised God who gave victory. Abram gave him a tenth, while refusing riches that could let the king of Sodom claim ownership of his success.

The Bible Adventure
After Abram rescued Lot, Melchizedek king of Salem came with bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, blessed Abram, and praised God who gave victory. Abram gave him a tenth, while refusing riches that could let the king of Sodom claim ownership of his success.
Read the passage slowly and notice the people’s words, choices, and consequences. The account teaches that the priest-king blesses Abram and points beyond himself.
