Introduction | مقدمة

Elisha refused to leave Elijah during their final journey from Gilgal to the Jordan. Elijah struck the water with his mantle, and both crossed on dry ground. Elisha asked for a firstborn share in his teacher’s spirit. After Elijah was taken in a whirlwind, the mantle fell. Elisha returned, struck the Jordan, crossed, and was recognised as the prophet who would continue the ministry.

The Bible Adventure

Elisha refused to leave Elijah during their final journey from Gilgal to the Jordan. Elijah struck the water with his mantle, and both crossed on dry ground. Elisha asked for a firstborn share in his teacher’s spirit. After Elijah was taken in a whirlwind, the mantle fell. Elisha returned, struck the Jordan, crossed, and was recognised as the prophet who would continue the ministry.

Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. Notice how the account teaches that God continues His work by forming and commissioning faithful servants. God acts within real human history: He confronts idolatry and injustice, preserves life, receives repentance, forms servants, and keeps covenant even when His people are weak.
