Amalek attacked Israel in the wilderness. Joshua led the battle while Moses stood on the hill with God’s staff. When Moses’ hands grew tired, Aaron and Hur supported them until sunset. Victory came through God’s help, active courage, and a community that held one another up.

The Bible Adventure

Amalek attacked Israel in the wilderness. Joshua led the battle while Moses stood on the hill with God’s staff. When Moses’ hands grew tired, Aaron and Hur supported them until sunset. Victory came through God’s help, active courage, and a community that held one another up.

Read the passage slowly and notice the people’s words, choices, and consequences. The account teaches that prayer, shared support, and courageous action belong together. God works truthfully within human history: He confronts evil, protects life, keeps covenant, and patiently calls people to trust and obedience.

This is not a distant tale or a moral slogan. It belongs to the one saving story that prepares for Jesus Christ. We receive the passage with reverence, ask what it reveals about God, and allow it to correct fear, pride, selfishness, or unbelief in our own lives.
