Inside the great fish Jonah prayed with words shaped by the Psalms. He remembered sinking beneath the waves, cried to God, and confessed that salvation belongs to the Lord. After three days and nights, God commanded the fish to release Jonah onto dry land. The prophet who had fled was given life and another opportunity to obey.

The Bible Adventure

Inside the great fish Jonah prayed with words shaped by the Psalms. He remembered sinking beneath the waves, cried to God, and confessed that salvation belongs to the Lord. After three days and nights, God commanded the fish to release Jonah onto dry land. The prophet who had fled was given life and another opportunity to obey.

Read the passage slowly and follow the setting, conflict, response, and outcome. God acts within real human history: He confronts idolatry and injustice, preserves life, receives repentance, forms servants, and keeps covenant even when His people are weak.
