Introduction | مقدمة

Fifty days after the Resurrection, Christ’s disciples were gathered in prayer. The promised Holy Spirit came, not to make them impressive performers, but to form one worshipping, witnessing Church that carries the good news of Christ to every people.

بعد القيامة بخمسين يوم، تلاميذ المسيح كانوا مجتمعين يصلوا. الروح القدس اللي وعد بيه الرب حلّ عليهم، مش علشان يعمل منهم ناس بتستعرض، لكن علشان يكوّن كنيسة واحدة عابدة وشاهدة توصل بشارة المسيح لكل الشعوب.

The Bible Adventure

The disciples waited together in Jerusalem, just as Jesus had commanded. Suddenly a sound like a rushing mighty wind filled the house. Tongues like fire rested on each of them, and all were filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke in languages they had not learned, while pilgrims from many nations heard the mighty works of God in their own languages.

Some people wondered; others mocked. Peter stood with the apostles and explained that God was fulfilling His promise. He preached Jesus Christ—crucified, risen, and Lord. The same Peter who had once denied Jesus now spoke with courage, not because he had become naturally fearless, but because the Holy Spirit strengthened him.

The listeners were cut to the heart and asked what they should do. Peter called them to repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit. About three thousand received the word. They continued in the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayers.

Pentecost reveals the Church as a Spirit-filled communion. Different languages were not erased; people were united in hearing one Gospel. The Spirit gathers without making everyone identical. He gives gifts for service, produces holiness, leads us into truth, and makes ordinary believers witnesses of the risen Christ.

Coptic Orthodox Teaching

The Holy Spirit is fully divine, worshipped and glorified with the Father and the Son. Pentecost is not merely a past anniversary: the Spirit gives new birth in Baptism, seals believers in Chrismation, and builds the Eucharistic community in apostolic faith and prayer.

Hands-on Activity

Create flame-shaped cards. On one side write a gift God has given you; on the other write a concrete way to use it for someone this week. Arrange the cards around a cross to show many gifts serving one Lord.

Faith in Practice This Week

Begin each day with: “Holy Spirit, guide my words and actions.” Then choose one courageous, loving witness to Christ.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, Giver of life, fill Your Church and renew us. Give us truthful words, humble hearts, and gifts used in love. Unite us in Christ and make us faithful witnesses. Amen.

Guide for Parents

Connect Pentecost to the child’s own Baptism and Chrismation without suggesting that strong feelings prove the Spirit’s presence. Look for His fruit in love, truth, courage, repentance, and service.

Guide for Sunday School Servants

Prepare a map showing the nations in Acts 2. Contrast Babel’s division with Pentecost’s unity in truth. End with the Church’s four practices in Acts 2:42 and ask the class to plan one act of fellowship and service.

مغامرة الكتاب المقدس

التلاميذ استنوا مع بعض في أورشليم زي ما يسوع أوصاهم. فجأة جه صوت زي هبوب ريح عاصفة وملأ البيت. ظهرت ألسنة كأنها من نار واستقرت على كل واحد، وامتلأ الجميع من الروح القدس. ابتدوا يتكلموا بلغات ما اتعلموهاش، والحجاج من شعوب كتير سمعوا عظائم ربنا بلغاتهم.

ناس اتعجبت وناس سخرت. بطرس وقف مع الرسل وشرح إن ربنا بيتمم وعده. كرز بيسوع المسيح المصلوب والقائم والرب. بطرس نفسه اللي أنكر يسوع قبل كده اتكلم بشجاعة، مش لأنه بقى قوي بطبعه، لكن لأن الروح القدس ثبّته.

السامعين اتنخسوا في قلوبهم وسألوا يعملوا إيه. بطرس دعاهم للتوبة والمعمودية باسم يسوع المسيح لمغفرة الخطايا وقبول عطية الروح القدس. حوالي تلات آلاف قبلوا الكلمة، وكانوا يواظبوا على تعليم الرسل والشركة وكسر الخبز والصلوات.

العنصرة بتعلن الكنيسة كشركة مليانة من الروح القدس. اللغات المختلفة ما اختفتش، لكن الناس اتوحدت في سماع إنجيل واحد. الروح يجمعنا من غير ما يلغي اختلافنا، ويدي مواهب للخدمة، ويثمر قداسة، ويرشد للحق، ويخلّي المؤمن العادي شاهد للمسيح القائم.

التعليم القبطي الأرثوذكسي

الروح القدس إله كامل، مسجود له وممجَّد مع الآب والابن. العنصرة مش مجرد ذكرى قديمة؛ الروح القدس بيدينا الميلاد الجديد في المعمودية، ويختمنا في الميرون، ويبني جماعة الإفخارستيا في إيمان الرسل وصلوات الكنيسة.

ليه التلاميذ كانوا مستنيين مع بعض؟
إيه العلامات اللي صاحبت حلول الروح القدس؟
بطرس اتغير إزاي؟
إيه الأربع ممارسات اللي عاشتها الكنيسة الأولى؟

نشاط عملي

اعمل كروت على شكل ألسنة نار. اكتب ناحية موهبة ربنا ادهالك، والناحية التانية طريقة عملية تستخدمها لخدمة حد الأسبوع ده. رتّبوا الكروت حوالين صليب علشان تبان مواهب كتير بتخدم رب واحد.

نعيش الإيمان الأسبوع ده

ابدأ كل يوم: «يا روح الله القدوس، ارشد كلامي وتصرفاتي». وبعدها اختار شهادة واحدة شجاعة ومحبة للمسيح.

صلاة

أيها الروح القدس المحيي، املأ كنيستك وجدّدنا. ادينا كلام حق وقلوب متواضعة ومواهب مستخدمة بمحبة. وحّدنا في المسيح وخلّينا شهود أمناء. آمين.

دليل للوالدين

اربط العنصرة بمعمودية الطفل وميرونه، من غير ما نقول إن المشاعر القوية وحدها دليل وجود الروح. دوروا على ثماره في المحبة والحق والشجاعة والتوبة والخدمة.

حضّر خريطة للشعوب المذكورة في أعمال ٢. قارن تشتت بابل بوحدة العنصرة في الحق. اختم بممارسات الكنيسة الأربع في أعمال ٢: ٤٢ وخلي الفصل يخطط لعمل شركة وخدمة.
